Hydrocyclones are used to separate and remove heavy particles from water (mainly sand, scale). Used for heavy water contamination with heavy particles, for pre-treatment.
The device is based on the action of a centrifugal force, under the influence of which mechanical particles are separated from water and fall under the own weight into the lower part of the hydrocyclone and accumulate there. As accumulation (but not less than 2 times a day), it is necessary to clean the lower tank, opening the drain cock during the operation of the hydrocyclone (for washing, water pressure of 2-3 Atm is necessary).
It is also recommended for installation in front of automatic screen filters to prevent blockage of large mesh with sand, shells and other solid debris.
