At the same time, the importance of micronutrients such as iron, manganese, zinc, copper, magnesium, etc. is often not given due attention. The microelements must arrive to the plant in time and in the right proportion, although the demand for them in certain specific periods may undergo certain changes depending on the climate, soils, techniques and culture itself. The requirement to maintain the proper balance of microelements remains invariably important.
The lack of at least one of the necessary micronutrients will necessarily delay the development, growth or multiplication of plants and, ultimately, will have a bad effect on yields. Symptoms of micronutrient deficiency do not always appear immediately.
Since the beginning of 2006, a new line of fertilizers for foliar fertilizing under the brand BRACKSIL (microelement cocktails and monochelates) has been introduced in Ukraine based on chelating agents LSA (lignosulfonates) and LPCA (ligninpicarboxylic acid) manufactured by the company Valagro. This fertilizer is applied in a non-root way, while chelates based on EDTA, DTPA, EDDHA are used for root irrigation.
Fertilizers based on LPCA and LSA complexes have the following advantages:
- A highly concentrated set of microelements (the introduction of a small amount makes it possible to compensate for their lack of plants);
- No dust;
- Reduction of stress on the sheet surface (adhesive effect);
- Low acidity – pH = 3,3 and hence better compatibility with SZR. Has an acidifying effect, which allows to lower the pH of the nutrient solution when using water with an alkaline reaction;
- Does not contain Na, Cl and heavy metals, which avoids the risk of burns and salt deposits on the leaves;
- Reduced risk of phytotoxicity (natural chelating agent – lignin);
- Stability in a wide range of pH (from 3 to 12) and to photochemical reactions;
- High degree of assimilation with leaf fertilizing. Each molecule of BREXYL contains triterpene glucosides, which increase the penetration of nutrients into plant tissues;
- The fertilizer molecule is amphiphilic – soluble in water and fats (BREXYL is well absorbed by cultures that have a strong waxy coating on the leaves).
The range of fertilizers BREXIL supplies the cultures with meso- and microelements, preventing chlorosis, which entails a decrease in qualitative and quantitative indices.
BREXYL Combi is recommended for crops growing on alkaline soils, as well as for those crops for which the element is critical – iron.
BREXYL Mix is developed for plants growing on loose, organic or acidic soils, as well as for crops that are particularly in need of zinc.
BREXYL Multi is designed for crops with a high demand for magnesium or for those that suffer from a general nutritional deficiency.
Valagro paid special attention to the problem of calcium deficiency, releasing a very effective formula of BREXYL Ca supplemented with boron (Ca-15%, B-0.5%).
Vertex rot of fruits is associated with insufficient absorption of calcium by plants, as well as alternating periods of wet and dry soil. Damage to the root system can also be the cause of a decrease in the intensity of calcium absorption by plants and the development of apical rot of fruits.
In most cases, as a preventive measure for vertex rot, foliar top dressing with calcium nitrate is used. However, this fertilizer contains 15.5% nitrogen and at the stage of fruit formation can cause excessive vegetative activity of the plant.
BREXYL does not contain nitrogen, and calcium is in it in the form of a complex based on lignosulfonate, which makes it possible to achieve dozens of times higher efficiency of foliar fertilization than with the use of calcium nitrate. Deficiency of boron inhibits the flow of calcium into the plant. If it is deficient, there is a weak flowering, a decrease in the fertility of the pollen, the point of growth dies down, the growth of the roots stops. Boron is a calcium synergist. In order to increase the effectiveness of the chelate
calcium in the composition of BRAXIL Ca added boron.
